Our 1st Day On Route 66 - Chicago To Litchfield

Today's post is brought to you by S & J Smash Repairs (Santo, a taxed invoice is on its way)

Hi Folks,

Today was our first day on the historic Route 66, Chicago to Los Angles.

First stop, breakfast at the Old Route 66 Family Restaurant in Dwight to get our usual fill of pork chops, eggs, ham and hash browns   The waiter was about 84 years of age and kept messing up the order.

Onward then to Pontiac where we visited the Route 66 Museum and War Museum.   The funniest thing in Pontiac was that the undertakers was next to the ambulance station and both were owned by Duffy.

It was then off to Springfield Illinois where we visited Abraham Lincoln's Tomb and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.

John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln's assassin.

Drove on to Litchfield, 315 miles for the day, where we're staying the night at the Holiday Inn.   Dinner at Mavericks Steak and Spirits Bar and off to bed now.

Regards,
The DMTC.
