Hi Folks,
We've heard from Tim and Mal who are sunning themselves in beautiful Hawaii. They had a beach fire last night, and as usual on our trips, it was the 'Malinator's' job to collect the firewood.
It's Mal's birthday today (US time) and we wish him a happy one. All the best Mal. Tim's done the right thing and shouted him out for dinner and a nice bottle of Greg Norman red. Well done Tim, but it's not coming out of the kitty.
For us boys, it was on the road again along Historic Route 66 from Litchfield, Illinois and the Missouri Section of the route to Rolla, Missouri, about 214 miles.
As we were driving along through the town of Olive, we came across a yard with 600 cars from the 1920's and 70's, all waiting to restored. Another Ronnie heaven.
It was then on to Staunton, and we all know how Ronnie doesn't like a dirty car, so we stopped and washed the Hollywood Wagon. As we drove out of town, I told Ronnie that he had to turn onto a dirt road to follow Route 66. He said, 'Go and get ......, I've just washed the car'. The town was also having a 'Tour De Donut' Festival. We don't know what it was all about, but we've decided to adopt this name for our many stuff-ups and going around in circles.
For lunch, we couldn't go past Cracker Barrel, and in we went for the three pancakes and three scoops of ice-cream. Great this low cholesterol, non-fattening fare.
On the road again to the Jesse James Wax Museum and Meramec Caverns & Jesse James Hideout. The boys waited while Jeffsy did the tour of the caverns as they'd seen them before. An hour and forty minutes later he emerged from them.
We're in Rolla now and staying at the Hampton Inn. All five of us had a feed of Chinese at the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant for $47. Food wasn't too bad, but we're a bit worried as the owner's name was Sal Minella.
More tomorrow if we get WiFi.
More tomorrow if we get WiFi.
P.S. Keren. Just for you. This is dad enjoying the sights as we drove along.
Also, Jeffsy's wife has told him he has to tell everyone of his stuff ups to show that he's not mister perfect as he thinks. He's sat on his Tom Tom charger and broken it; left his jeans, trousers and shirts at some hotel; and taken his suitcase out of the car without it being done up, and his clothes went everywhere. Hope your all laughing your whats its off. Ha, ha, ha!!!!
Regards,
The DMTC
Good morning DMTC fathers, it's 7am on Sunday morning here so that means it is Father's Day USA. Happy Father's Day to you all! Take the time out today to enjoy some sights, good food, wine and company to spoil yourselves. Oh, silly me, that's what you are doing each day. Give each other a big hug then.

Did you think of your sidter when you went through Olive. She could have told everyone you're not perfect - we just let people think you are.
