Hi Folks,
We're still on Route 66 and our first port of call was the Barringer Meteor Crater just outside of Winslow. Like all things, the Yanks have to be best, and they carried on about it being the world's first officially recognised and best preserved meteor site. Our Wolf Creek site must be over developed. One mile across, and for you Santo, they didn't mention how much water it could hold compared to Sydney Harbour. We could have done a 45 minute guided tour involving a half mile walk, but you're right, most of us are too unfit to attempt same.
1,800 lbs and we tried to acquire it!
We continued on then, passing through Winona, Flagstaff and Williams, where we had lunch at Roy's Steakhouse and had to repair the Hollywood Wagon as the windscreen rubber kept coming out.
We then pressed on to Kingman where we left Route 66 and headed towards Las Vegas.
At 3.40 pm we crossed the Colorado River from Bullhead Arizona into Laughlin Nevada. We checked in to the Tropicana Hotel Casino, where we'll stay until Sunday morning. It was 107 degrees when we arrived and we'd done 288 miles for the day. When we were in Santa Fe, we were 7,000 feet above sea level. This dropped to 3,700 feet in Winslow. Most of us have had a blood nose or headache due to the altitude. Driving in to Bullhead, we had 10 miles of a 6% downhill grade. We're now at about 600 feet above sea level and feeling much better.

Again Keren, today's photograph of dad enjoying the sights.
We've just had breakfast and guess which two little fat pigs had these. Their initials are Tony Cirelli and Ron Kirwan. They'd asked for two, but you could only get one or three. Thinking they'd only be small, they opted for the three. These two little fat pigs won't be going anywhere fast for a while.
This is all that Ron could eat.
We'll all have a rest today before heading off for Las Vegas tomorrow. May not be much happening from now on, so we might not post anything for a couple of days. Keep checking it out though.
Regards,
The DMTC
